John 14:21-24
Here in the
gospel of John Jesus gives us
the primary key to being in on
Gods full favor. That is to love
God so much we actually do what
He commands. So much has been
spoken about the favor of God in
recent months and years. Let me
say this...there is no magic
wand, there is no quick fix or
short-cuts. This is the
'methodology'! Obey!
Jesus said, 'if you love me,
keep my commandments'. He also
said that to hear His words and
do them/live them was like
building your house of life on a
firm foundation that no storm of
life could destroy the house.
James tells us to hear the truth
and not live it is self
deception. To be hearers only
and not doers of the word was
more or less a joke. And the
joke is on us when we don't do
what we are taught.
Don't get me wrong I know God
really does love us all
unconditionally. But what Jesus
is saying here deals more with
our response to that love. If we
want God to 'like' us, not just
love us there is a price to be
paid. The price? A Godly
affection and sincerity that
moves us to obey Him at any
cost. We ourselves may love
people we know dearly that we
struggle all the time to come to
a place of really 'liking'.
I mean if God loves us no
matter what we do already, what
is Jesus getting at here in John
14? He says, he who has my
commands and 'keeps them', it is
he who loves me and he who loves
me, 'will be loved' by my Father
and I will love him and MANIFEST
my self to him'. This word in
the Greek (emphanidzo) literally
means: to cause to shine; to
appear; to reveal; make visible;
to present oneself to the sight
of another! Wow! What a promise!
Now that's the greatest favor of
all!
Tommy Tenney says the 'one
nod from God' will change your
life forever! If we want His
favor in life, health, finances
and ministry this is the way
through the door. But if we
start from a place of pure
devotion in simply wanting to
please Him we will find that the
greatest reward of all was not
in getting something that
pertains to earthly things but
instead the awesome wonder and
favor of seeing Him, 'face to
face'!

JOINED, LIVED, WALKED OUT
INTO THE DESPERATE WORLD
LOVE FACING LOVE
IN EQUAL FIDELITY
SHINING BRIGHTLY
