'WHAT IS A MINISTER?'
- By Gene Johnson

Psalm 104:3-4 Hebrews 1:7
''Who makes His angels, spirits
and His ministers a flame of
fire''.
The word in the Greek here for
minister is, 'lettourgos'
which is two words combined;
laos, 'people' and; ergon,
'work'.
So to minister is to work with
people, on people or for people.
One thing I've found to be true
over the years both in ministry
and
physical labor is that it takes
power and energy.
If I try to work all day without
something on my stomach I grow
faint
and by afternoon am completely
exhausted.
The same applies to ministering
to people. We can't give out
what we
don't have to give! We must seek
God first and partake of the
bread of life,
His word. As we worship and
praise Holy Spirit will
move within us and fill
us afresh with new wine, fresh
oil, and living water so the
strength and fresh
fire of God will be upon us to
enable others.
The Spirit must do some, 'people
work' on us first so we can
acquire
the fire and give out to
others the way we should.
He must pour in, that we might
have something to pour out.
We cannot in our own strength do
Gods job for Him.
It is God who works in us...
+++WORK WEAK+++
ON THE WINGS
OF THE WIND
ON THE CLOUDS
COME HIS FEET
TO BUILD UP THE FEEBLE
TO STRENGTHEN THE WEAK
WE CAN DO NOTHING
WITHOUT HIM
WE ARE BUT MORTAL FLESH
WE NEED HIS IMPARTATION
WE NEED THE FIRE THAT IS FRESH
WE NEED THE NEW WINE
WE MUST HAVE FRESH OIL
TO DRINK DEEP THE LIVING WATER
BEFORE WE GO OUT TO TOIL
WE MUST OPEN UP
AND LET THE SPIRIT POUR
IF WE ARE TO SERVE OTHERS
OUT ON THE THRESHING FLOOR
OH GOD PLEASE SHOW US
WE CAN DO LITTLE ON OUR OWN
UNLESS WE DRAW FROM
THE WELLSPRING
THAT FLOWS FROM YOUR
HOLY THRONE...
